Comenius Project

Ysgol Rhys Prichard in Llandovery have been entertaining visitors from Turkey, Bulgaria and Stafford in England as part of their involvement with the Comenius Project.

The programme is  funded by the British Council and allows schools to strengthen  the European dimension in their curriculum by enabling students  and staff from across the continent to work together. The  fourteen pupils and nine teachers visiting Llandovery were  lodged with local families and the school took them to visit  places of local cultural interest.

Rhys Prichard worked with  the group on a range of activities including folk dancing, writing stories, compiling recipe books, designing a calendar  and christmas card and collating teaching resources.  Picture by Mark Davies
