Memories by Tracey Aston

As part of the Schools centenary celebrations in 2010 a book was published, this included the memories written by many of the schools teachers.  Over the following weeks we will be adding excerpts from these to the website.

I have been working at the school for 13 years. I taught in the juniors for 8 years before moving to a class in the new extension to teach infants in 2005. All the ages I have taught have had their own special challenges but have also brought their own special rewards.

Recently I saw an ex pupil of mine get married and some have even had children. Now doesn’t that make me realize how long I’ve been in the school!     The comical sayings that pupils come out with on a daily basis never cease to amaze me. No two days are ever the same! Even with the stresses and strains of teaching, the children make it all worthwhile, especially when once, a 5 year old said to me ‘pan byddai’n tyfu hoffwn i fod yn athrawes fel ti Miss Aston’!
